CLAIMED is the book I think most of the readers of this series have been waiting for, because it is the story of Jack Chance. Jack as the oldest of the Chance brothers feels the most guilt about their father's premature death, and therefore naturally feels the most weight of ensuring that the ranch that is the brothers' legacy continues to flourish, but does he truly understand that it takes more than one person's determination alone to ensure success...that it takes not only his brothers, but his employees as well.

Jack seems to have lost his ability to do anything but be a hard driving taskmaster constantly worrying about the bottom line. This has affected his relationships with his family, his employees, and most importantly Josie Keller, the owner of the local watering hole.

As Jack finds himself being surrounded by his brothers and the women they are falling for he begins to rethink his feelings for Josie. Was he right to push her aside while he dealt with his guilt over his father's death? Is it too late to fix things between them, and maybe have a chance to together?

Maybe he'll have an opportunity to discuss things with Josie as he is roped into giving her riding lessons. Will Josie be the only one getting lessons though...maybe Josie will give Jack a lesson in true friendship and love.

CLAIMED was my favorite story in the trilogy, and I loved watching Jack and Josie find their second and final chance at love. However throughout the Sons of Chance series Ms. Thompson told several secondary stories, and while you can assume how these turn out with the ending of CLAIMEDI wouldn't mind one more follow up book.

So set aside some good uninterrupted reading time, a cool drink, and a shady place to read, and get lost in the story telling of Ms. Thompson, and her characters residing on The Last Chance.
