Therefore when the opportunity to read HER BEST FRIEND for review came my way I grabbed it because it would force me to try a new to me author and perhaps incite me to go digging in my TBR mountain for the backlist I've been hoarding.

HER BEST FRIEND is the story of Amy Parker who has had two grand passions in her life one of which she has some control over, and one of which really is up to fate to decide whether or not she'll succeed in.

The first is to buy and restore an old movie theater called The Grand. The Grand is very special to Amy because her great grandfather built it, and she feels it is part of her legacy to be able to bring it back to its former grandeur.

Amy is close to achieving her dreams when she hits a major stumbling block and reaches out to former friend for help. She believes she is asking for help from her friend Lisa a lawyer, but is surprised when her former neighbor, Quinn shows up at the council meeting to aide her in getting The Grand after all.

Quinn is more than a former neighbor...he is the person whom Amy had a teenage crush on, and who rejected her in favor or her best friend Lisa. Now the marriage between Quinn and Lisa is all but officially over, and the friendship between Amy and Quinn is quickly heating up.

While it would have been easy to have everything go smoothly for Amy after purchasing The Grand they didn't and that allowed for the relationship of Amy and Quinn to really prove itself.

Even though at times I felt as though I had read the story before I did enjoy HER BEST FRIEND and look forward to making time to dig in my TBR mountain for the backlist books of Sarah Mayberry that I've been hoarding.
