Grace Armatrading is an emergency room physician who has a phenomenal success rate with trauma victims. No one knows that she has a talent for healing which aids her as she works on her patients. When Adam Zolton brings her news of her great aunt's death, Grace has just been attacked. She has been talking with a reporter that works for Adam. The police see no evidence of an attacker and Grace is accused of the attack.

Grace and Adam had once been involved but the relationship turned sour when Grace learned Adam had used her to obtain some information he needed.

Adam is a wealthy British citizen who has taken over a paper which reports on paranormal events. His success with his paper has added to his wealth. His investigation into the stories of a mage known as The Dragon has led him to Grace. He must protect her at all costS.

Grace and Adam will face incredible odds and danger as they seek the mage who has created a tool which allows virtual killing. As they investigate, the two of them will follow the clues to some business parters of Adams. The identity of the Dragon and the extent to which that person has developed a new technology will surprise and dismay Adam.

While I found the combination of magic, reality and virtual reality fascinating and creative, I had some trouble following the story. This is the second in a series. Not having read the first I felt a little lost with some of the characters and following the plot so would recommend reading them in order.
