Tully Sullivan woke up surrounded by people who said they were dragons and that she's one too. Considering that a couple of times a year she zones out and turns base metals into gold, the weird concept didn't totally throw her off. But no matter what, they can't convince her she's a dragon.

Since this was an unscheduled "zone out," Tully is worried about her son, Brom, and insists the dragon people, if that's what they are, get him. When she talks by phone to her husband, who isn't at all concerned that Tully disappeared and zoned out around strangers but is worried that he won't get the gold he usually gets, Tully realizes the man is a jerk and it's time to get rid of him.

Once Brom is safely with her, Tully tries to make sense of the crazy situation. She just can't be a dragon, but these people are insisting she is Ysolde de Bouchier, a famous dragon who is the mate of Baltic, an infamous dragon who is supposed to have killed many other dragons.

It can't be. At least, that's what Tully thinks until she begins to have strange dreams and then finally meets Baltic, to find a powerful attachment that she can't deny. Baltic does not admit to killing the other dragons, and Tully is left fighting her attraction but also feeling compelled to stand up for him against the other dragons.

Ms. MacAlister has once again taken a crazy plot and fascinating characters (Aisling and Drake, along with the demon Jim, are in this book!) and tossed them with a lot of fun and a dash of mystery to create a darned good reading adventure. Who would have thought dragons could be so sexy?! Katie MacAlister, that's who. Hail to the powers of the creative author.

Book Summary

If you found out you were a famous fire-breather, you’d be freaked out too.

Tully Sullivan is just like any other suburban mom – unless you count the days every year that she zones out and turns base metals in to gold. Those are weird.

And now she’s woken up in a strange place surrounded by strange people who keep insisting they’re dragons – and that she’s one too. But not just any dragon. She’s Ysolde de Bouchier, a famed figure from dragon history.

Tully can’t shape-shift or breathe fire, and she’s definitely not happy being sentenced to death for the misdeeds of a dragon mate she can’t remember. All Tully knows is that she wants her son back. So she’ll have to find a way to solve the crimes of a past she has no memory of living…
