When one of Tommy's firefighter friends gets married to Shea's friend, Tommy has the opportunity to show her what she is missing. Between his attempts to woo her, their station gets several heavy-duty fire calls. Tommy's boss, who is struggling with alcoholism to forget the death of his family, repeatedly sends Tommy into the fray to rescue someone. Before Tommy is thrown into the wall of building, he sees a bystander who seems out of place. On a future call, Tommy recognizes that something is "off" before someone hits him on the back of his head. He starts to realize these building fires aren't accidents, but arson -- and people have died. His interests lean toward becoming an investigator with the Fire Marshall's office.
Shea really likes Tommy, but he reminds her of something from her past. It's not his fault, but Shea doesn't trust herself. Still, when Tommy is brought into the emergency room not once but twice, Shea realizes she can't stay away from him. She needs to trust him and tell him what her issues are.
But Shea might not get the opportunity as someone doesn't like Tommy messing up his plan, and Shea is part of the plan.
LINE OF FIRE is the story of two service-oriented people who have more to give than they know. Shea and Tommy are destined for each other, but it is the danger that truly brings them together. Station #5 has some hunky men, and this installment of the series is pretty satisfying.
