Hell on earth for Georgina means: -Being head over heels in love with a human, when consummating your mutual desire could suck the soul from his body. -Heroically giving him up to the arms of your best friend then somehow getting roped in to help plan the wedding...including wearing a bridesmaid dress. -While you bravely abstain from sleeping with the groom, a real bitch of a succubus hits town, takes on your form, and does her best to seduce him in your place.

It's no wonder when an overpoweringly seductive supernatural cloud of music and pretty lights shows up promising Georgina peace and joy and escape, it gets harder (and harder) to resist.

Then Cody the geeky vampire falls for Gabrielle the human Goth chick (who thinks he's too mainstream for her tastes) and asks Georgina to set him up with her, her demon boss Jerome is getting inspected by the head office; and perhaps most disturbing of all, her hot roommate Roman is spending less time plotting to kill her and more time plotting to get into her pants.

Life could be better.

In SUCCUBUS SHADOWS, Richelle Mead manages to build on the four previous books in the series, and add more than a few intriguing curve balls to keep readers coming back. The plot she develops also provides the opportunity to reveal some of the more fascinating aspects of Georgina's long history.

I hadn't read Mead's Succubus series prior to this one. I had such a good time I will be reading the previous four and lining up to buy number six when it arrives.
