Vowing to become a star, her mother's parting prediction, Trixie now calls herself Emma. However, she is destitute and barely surviving as a 30-year-old aspiring actress in New York, with all options running out. Luckily, an opportunity comes her way and she is offered a part in a play at a local theater in Twilight, Taken under the wing of the True Love Quilting Club, Trixie resumes her friendship with Sam, a veterinarian and widower with a young son, Charlie. The child has not said a word since his mother's death. Having separate goals in life, Trixie and Sam are denying their love. Career-driven Trixie is offered her big break in Hollywood, but her heart is broken at leaving Sam and Charlie behind. Now that she has achieved success, is this her dream or her mother's?
Trixie is a spunky, tiny woman full of spontaneity and adventure. Her bubbly character totally steals your heart. Longing for a life of warmth and love is her true goal, even though she misplaces it for fame and success. Twilight is known as the town for "hooking up with a childhood sweetheart." Your heart will go out to Charlie and his handsome easy going father. I truly enjoyed yet another of Lori Wilde's whimsical but heart-wrenching tales of love and the search for acceptance.
Book Summary
The pattern of a quilt will always lead you back home.
Trixie Lynn Parks changed her name to Emma, shook the dust of Twilight, Texas off her shoes, and vowed to make it big in the city. But even though Twilight is as embracing as she remembers, some things—and some people—sure have changed. Sam has grown from a carefree boy to strong, serious single dad. And even though the chemistry between them sizzles hotter than ever and his kisses still light her up like a bottle rocket, Trixie Lynn quickly discovers she must choose between the fame and fortune that have finally come her way—or the one true love who has the power to mend her patchwork heart.
