As always the community of Virgin River is ready for visitors, and the seats at Jack's Bar are available so settle in and see what happens when Air Force Pilot Sean Riordan settles in Virgin River for what he expects to be a fairly uncomplicated extended leave from his station. He never expects to run into Franci Duncan the one woman who could take the high flying pilot and turn him into a man willing to live life closer to the ground.
Sean and Franci had had a long term relationship but in the end Franci wanted a home and family, and Sean couldn't see beyond the next assignment and potential promotion. The breakup affected both more than they might realize until fate intervenes and they run into one another 4 years and a lifetime later.
As always Ms. Carr has written a story of two people who have nothing but the utmost respect for one another, and yet are too stubborn to realize that love is about compromise and not about one person having his way and one person having to make all the sacrifices.
When I started ANGEL'S PEAK I was a tad concerned that it was going to be a somewhat shallow story focused on two rather immature people. However as the pages began to fly by I realized that While Sean and Franci might seem immature they really weren't....they were just protecting their hearts while they figured out if this time they really had what it took to make their relationship stick.
With the turn of the last page of ANGEL'S PEAK I wanted to laugh, to cry, and to say oh why can't Ms. Carr write faster? I know that there are more Virgin River books to come, but I'm impatient, and want them yesterday. I guess that means I'll be seeing you around the bookstore shelves awaiting the next installment!
Book Summary
Sean has settled down in spite of himself—he’s not the cocky young fighter pilot he was when Franci left, and he wants them to try again. After all, they have a history...but that’s not all they share.
Franci’s secret reason for walking away when Sean refused to commit is now three and a half: a redheaded cherub named Rosie who shares her daddy’s emerald green eyes. Sean is stunned—and furious with Franci for the deception.
News travels fast in Virgin River, and soon the whole town is taking sides. Rebuilding their trust could take a small miracle—and the kind of love that can move mountains.
