The Black Sheep Knitting Shop is a hot spot where five women regularly connect to knit and solve life's problems. Sexy, 50-something Gloria Sterling wants to be the newest member of the group. Gloria comes across as a bit of a cougar, a woman who has it all, who has snagged a younger man as her husband. Gloria invites the women to her home to talk about their new kitting project, which gives each woman an opportunity to get to know her a little better and see how this older-woman-younger-man relationship is working out. Maggie, owner of the Black Sheep store, has known Gloria for about 10 years. Although another member knows confidential information, Gloria keeps a lot under her sleeve.

When Gloria winds up floating face down in her swimming pool, the five women can't believe she is gone and the way she died just doesn't add up. Soon, they are encouraging Jamie, the young widower, to ask the police to reinvestigate the "accidental drowning." As the savvy women put their heads together and fit the pieces of the puzzle together, someone decides they need a little warning to stay out of it. Will these women solve the puzzle before they finish their knitting project?

KNIT, PURL, DIE is an engaging story full of tight knit friendships and a needling mystery. This story is Anne Canadeo's second in the Black Sheep Knitters series. This story also treats readers to a few recipes. I felt relaxed after reading this story and recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a few hours of pleasurable reading.

Book Summary

Counting on each other...

Meet the Black Sheep knitters -- five smart, funny
women who love to knit, gossip, and solve crimes.

Gloria Sterling had it all -- money, looks, and a new sexy young husband. So when she's found floating face down in her own swimming pool, shock waves ripple through tiny Plum Harbor. At the Black Sheep Knitting Shop, Maggie Messina and her circle are devastated to lose their dear friend -- a woman as colorful as her fabulous yarn creations.

The police are quick to call it an accident, but sorting out Gloria's final hours leaves too many loose ends to satisfy her friends. The vivacious, fiftysomething cougar had her French manicured tips in more than a few pots, and the threads of some inside deals stashed in her chic knitting tote.

Who was the last person to see Gloria alive on that quiet summer night? Two empty wine glasses suggest she wasn't home alone knitting the entire evening.... The Black Sheep need to know the truth and set out to unravel -- stitch by stitch -- the weighty secrets that pulled poor Gloria under.
