When a formerly pregnant young woman is found with an inverted pentagram drawn in red on her forehead and no evidence of the baby that has been ripped viciously from her body, the local police and FBI need all the help they can get. They have to discover whether a local coven of witches are part of the problem or a targeted minority group. In addition, the case could become high-profile very quickly, considering the identity of the victim.
BLIND SIGHT, a follow-up to BLIND SPOT and BLIND RAGE, has a great storyline that flies from event to event without feeling rushed. The characterization is realistic, interesting and not at all contrived. In addition, the depiction of small town life in Minnesota during the winter is spot-on and engrossing. This book is an excellent one for anyone who loves a fast-paced mystery.
Book Summary
A deer hunter tracking his wounded prey through the
Minnesota woods gets much more than he bargained for when
he makes the grisly discovery of a young girl’s body. The
condition of the corpse is shocking: The girl had been
pregnant, but the fetus was removed from her womb and an
inverted pentagram drawn on her forehead. After the girl
is identified as the daughter of a high-powered Senator,
the FBI is called in to find the murderer — and the missing
baby.
The case becomes increasingly complex as
Bernadette and Tony’s personal relationship heats up, and
the investigation is hampered by the many lies that lead
them on a circuitous — and deadly — route to the truth.
Through dogged police work and Bernadette’s unique powers
of second sight, they close in on the killers on a frigid
night in the snowy woods in an effort to save the tiny
victim of the toughest crime they’ve ever solved.
