Grace Emerson is having a rough year. Her groom-to-be decided that his real true love was her beautiful younger sister Natalie -- a couple of weeks shy of the wedding. Now just what's a girl supposed to do with the wedding gown of her dreams. Already smarting from her feelings of inferiority to her two beautiful and successful sisters she now has to figure out how to keep a stiff upper lip and pretend to be happy for Natalie. Not an easy task especially when her entire family is keeping a keen eye on her. So looking for a solution to her problem Grace invents the man of her dreams -- good looking, successful, pediatric surgeon -- who luckily manages to be called away to save another child whenever the family wants to meet him. Life just keeps getting more complicated as the lies are compounded and opportunities to meet the real Mr. Right seem to be nonexistent.

Blind dates are seemingly scratching the bottom of the barrel. So evenings are spent teaching ball room dancing to the folks living at a senior citizen home. Her partner and best friend Julian is also looking for the love of his life. So now the two of them are out there looking for Mr. Right. Nights are spent grading history papers and weekends are busy enacting Civil War battles. Then a gorgeous hunk of an ex-con buys the house next to hers and try as she might Grace just can't seem to stay out of his way. Or is she really trying. It's really hard to get your life in order when family issues keep taking precedence over your own. Try hard as she can Grace can't seem to learn how to be selfish and it may cost her the real love of her life.

Kristan Higgins knows how to tell a contemporary tale of life and love. Her characters are quirky but lovable. She covers many do's and don'ts of thirty something singles looking for that someone special who will love them and be devoted to them. Her characters aren't willing to settle for just anyone and the lesson of the book is why should they? She has Grace yearning to find that one guy who will look at her and sigh from her beauty and be content in her presence. It's the dream and Higgins writes about fulfilling that dream. This story is for the romantic in all of us with just the right amount of fun added in.

Book Summary

When Grace Emerson's ex-fiancé starts dating her younger sister, extreme measures are called for. To keep everyone from obsessing about her love life, Grace announces that she's seeing someone. Someone wonderful. Someone handsome. Someone completely made up. Who is this Mr. Right? Someone…exactly unlike her renegade neighbor Callahan O'Shea. Well, someone with his looks, maybe. His hot body. His knife-sharp sense of humor. His smarts and big heart.

Whoa. No. Callahan O'Shea is not her perfect man! Not with his unsavory past. So why does Mr. Wrong feel so…right?
