As Madame K works her magic on the massage table, Flip finds herself slipping into Regency England and straight into Darcy's arms. She figures that since she did not end up in her steamy romance then she may as well add a little spice of her own. Unfortunately, her little romantic interlude finds itself in the pages of the first edition copy of Pride and Prejudice, and Flip must figure out how to fix it before she forever changes the course of the classic tale and finds her darkest secrets printed for all to read. She enlists the help of Magnus Knightley since he is an expert on the work. Of course, she has to convince him first that she is not delusional. How far is she willing to go to bring the work back to its original state? Will Madame K be able to help with the quandary that she has accidentally created?
Gwyn Cready gives a new meaning to losing yourself in a good book. She has created a unique tale that intertwines the happenings of one of the most well known romances written by Jane Austen, and the imaginings of one sex-deprived woman. Flip and Magnus lead a zany cast of characters in this humorous time travel adventure. There is a definite chemistry between the two as they match wits. The tale becomes even more amusing as Flip's ex- husband and his current lover find themselves in the midst of the action. SEDUCING MR. DARCY is a whimsical romance that is absolutely enchanting. I genuinely enjoyed this tale, and found myself laughing out loud quite often. I hope to read more tales by Ms. Cready in the future.
Book Summary
Mr. Darcy just isn't Flip Allison's style. She prefers novels that include hot sex on the bathroom sink to the mannerly high-tension longing of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. That is, until she pays a visit to Madame K, who promises a therapeutic massage with an opportunity to "Imagine Yourself in Your Favorite Book." Somehow on the way to a sizzling sink top session with a Venetian Adonis, Flip lands right in the middle of Regency England--and dangerously close to handsome Mr. Darcy. So close, in fact, that she discovers you can't always judge a book by its cover.
