Carly Silver owns a bookstore that caters completely to the romance crowd. When closing up after her book club meeting, Carly finds an enormous injured dog on her stoop. She is such a sucker for animals, and this one does not look like it will last the night. She manages to get the large dog home, and hopes that it makes it until morning. However, Carly wakes up to something in her bed, but it is not an animal. It is the most gorgeous man that she has ever seen. He has some explaining to do, and she is not quite certain what to make of the man's story. He says he is a werewolf, and she is supposed to believe that. After all, they are stuck with each other for a few days while the storm rages around them, so she may as well make the most of it. Can she trust him? Can she trust herself not to fall in love with him?
Kendra Leigh Castle has written a fantastic tale. Secrets and romance abound, and we are led on a very intriguing path that winds its way back to Scotland and the Stone of Destiny which the werewolves guard with their lives. Ms. Castle has created such a delightful cast from Carly's overprotective brothers and her daring best friend to Gideon's evil cousin and his wayward brother. This story has a charm that captivates the reader and holds them in thrall while they shamelessly turn those pages. CALL OF THE HIGHLAND MOON is a wonderful debut, and I cannot wait to read more by Ms. Castle.
