Detective Tom Fielding, Maggie's boyfriend, has been promoted to Special Task Force Investigator due to the rise in crime in their small Indiana town, and the Metzger murder is right up the newly created task force's alley. While whispers of paranormal involvement abound, Tom is reluctant to believe in the possibility, despite his recent involvement with Maggie, Liss and the other ghostbusting N.I.G.H.T.S. Still, he's having difficulty believing the juvenile delinquents from the local juvie home have escalated to murder, and there is that pesky hex sign to explain.
Between dealing with a mother hearing wedding bells for her eldest daughter, encouraging a deeper relationship with Tom and dealing with an uncomfortable attraction to Liss' younger, handsome boy friend, Maggie has her hands full trying to discover the identity of the killer. Is it a case of a mugging gone wrong, or is something more sinister going on in Stony Mill?
HEX MARKS THE SPOT by Madelyn Alt is the latest in the Bewitching Mysteries series and a winner from page one. Ms. Alt transports her readers to the lovely town of Stony Mill and entertains with characters both charming and sinister. The mystical elements of the story weave seamlessly throughout as the reader learns, along with Maggie as she becomes more comfortable with and knowledgeable about her gifts and how to work with them for the greater good. This is enchanting entertainment at its finest.
Book Summary
While her boss becomes entranced with a beautiful armoire at the countywide craft bazaar, Maggie can't help noticing the Amish craftsman who made it. Though his clothes may be plain, he himself is more handsome than a man sporting a jawline-only beard has any right to be. And he seems pretty aware that the ladies love his...furniture. But when the hunky craftsman turns up dead with a strange hex symbol near his corpse, Maggie wonders if the craft involved is the witchy kind.
