There she meets Edgar and they fall in love, but Evvie's work and Edgar's pride almost ruins their relationship. Sarah and Bran listen to past memories of a different time how in the end love does conquer all. But will Evvie and Edgar's story help Sarah and Bram's marriage? Will Bram still go forth and try to become a high ranking official regardless of the fact that his and Sarah's relationship maybe ruined forever? UPSTAIRS AT MISS HATTIE'S is a wonderful and emotional love story that spans sixty-five years. Ken Casper truly caught my attention from the first chapter with his skill at writing this beautiful love between Evvie and Edgar. I find this to be a wonderful and emotional read. Not many can write a story of this magnitude and show the all encompassing love that Evvie and Edgar have for each other. We are given a touchy topic the world of paid sex and prostitutes that are not usually touched upon in a romance of this nature. I was pleasantly surprised how Evvie made no excuses for the actions she took and that of Edgar who shows his undying devotion for his dear wife. I recommend this story for anyone who wants to be moved to tears.
