Gideon has his own reservations about bonding with Legna. The main one being a secret from his past, if discovered by her, could rip her from his arms forever. Those worries and others will all have to wait though. Necromancers are attacking the demons, specifically Legna's friend, Isabella, a pregnant druid, and they will stop at nothing to destroy her and her unborn child. In order to defeat them, Legna's going to have to depend on Gideon and their growing bond, but Gideon's guilt from his past mistakes is making it harder for him to fully commit. Once the truth is revealed, will they be able to move past it and defeat their enemies?

Having previously not read JACOB, the prequel to GIDEON, I was quite pleased the author spent a good portion of the start of the book re-telling the tale. For those of you who are familiar with it though, the beginning is going to be a bit slow going before it picks up. Once Jacquelyn Frank gets past the re-telling of JACOB though, it becomes all about Gideon and Magdelegna. The two character's off set each other perfectly. Gideon's the oldest of his kind so he's a bit old school; stuffy and pompous. Legna, on the other hand, is much more of a free spirit. They compliment each other and are quite entertaining. Also something I enjoyed was how Ms. Frank seems to be bringing together all the different races and incorporated them into the story. I can't wait to see how that goes and where her fertile mind takes this series. Wherever it goes though, I imagine she'll have many followers. Myself included.
