Out of a job and with no prospects of finding a new one, Katy Orville gets a little help from her mentor, Opera, via a dream. Organizing her Life Map, Katy decides to marry a nobleman and live in a castle. Taking what little savings she has left, Katy heads to England to fulfill her plan of finding Prince Charming.

Years ago, Will Eland decided not to marry until he could repair his old castle and support a wife and any possible children. Even though he's the Duke of Marreton, his money is held up in a trust controlled by his aunt. Too proud to ask for help or his money, Will supports himself being an organic farmer.

After nearly getting run down by a van, Katy finds herself in front of a church where a wedding is about to occur. She wants to attend, but a lack of invitation has her entrance denied. When the man who nearly hit her shows up and assumes she's a guest, she lets him escort her inside. Will has been brooding about not getting the name of the woman he almost hit. His attraction to her and the overwhelming need to get to know her is like something he's never experienced before. And when his cousin starts giving Katy attention just to irritate him, Will becomes protective, as well. After the tabloids start reporting that Katy is a wealthy American, she lets everyone assume the stories are true. But she soon becomes caught up in her lies.

Katy finds that she's falling for Will, the organic farmer, and knows she has to stay away from him and stick to her plans of marring a nobleman. Will doesn't understand what's gotten into Katy and why she's now ignoring him. He doesn't want her to think that his attraction is just because of her money. However, when he learns the truth about Katy's wealth, he turns his back and walks away. Katy realizes that farmer or not, Will is her Prince Charming, and she needs to let him know. She can only hope it's not too late.

This is a great story about finding love and is defiantly worth reading. I got a good chuckle here and there, though sometimes I wanted to take Katy by the shoulders and shake her. However, I found the results in the end to be quite lovely.

Book Summary

Single twentysomething seeks Prince Charming.

Those without royal castles need not apply.

Inspired by a famous talk show host to "live her best life," out-of-work tech writer Katy Orville flies off to London to find the man of her dreams. But in order to catch a prince, she has to shed her all-American girl image and transform herself into a hip, fashionable heiress. Can she really pull it off? Will she?

At a society wedding, it seems like a dream come true when a handsome man in a formal kilt begins a hot pursuit, clearly smitten with Katy. Unfortunately, Will Eland is more interested in rebuilding some old estate in the countryside than in partying with the aristos -- how can she be attracted to Mr. Handyman when she's looking for a nobleman? But appearances can be deceiving, as Katy well knows. Sometimes a prince is disguised as a pauper -- and sometimes an ordinary bloke is really a duke. And she hopes that playing make-believe hasn't ruined her chance for happily ever after....
