Joanne Walker is a crack mechanic and cop. She isn't so good with relationships. Madly in love with her Captain but unable to let him know, Joanne is extremely jealous when he shows up at a baseball game with another woman. Joanne gets drunk and then wakes up with an unknown man in her bed.

These events will lead to a situation, which leaves most of the police force in comas. Joanne is a reluctant shaman who is just learning to use her powers. Her efforts to save her partner from the coma will lead to bigger problems. With her disbelieving Captain and the help of a good friend, Gary, Joanne will have to discover the source of the problems and a resolution.

With COYOTE DREAMS,the third in the Walker series, C. E. Murphy has written a tautly woven tale that had me hanging on to every word. When Joanne started encountering herself in her dream walks, I got a little confused in following the story. However, it's still a great story and worth checking out the series.

Book Summary

Much of the city can't wake up. And more are dozing off each day.

Instead of powerful forces storming Seattle, a more insidious invasion is happening. Most of Joanne Walker's fellow cops are down with the blue flu—or rather the blue sleep. Yet there's no physical cause anyone can point to—-and it keeps spreading.

It has to be magical, Joanne figures. But what's up with the crazy dreams that hit her every time she closes her eyes? Are they being sent by Coyote, her still-missing spirit guide? The messages just aren't clear.

Somehow Joanne has to wake up her sleeping friends while protecting those still awake, figure out her inner-spirit dream life and, yeah, come to terms with these other dreams she's having about her boss....
