Leigh owns a restaurant and bar in Kansas City. Lucien Argeneau is a hunter of vampire rogues. When one of those rogue vampires takes Leigh, Lucien ends up with her after he attempts to kill the rogue and clean out the nest he's making. Lucien plans to turn Leigh over to someone else to teach her what she needs to know to survive as a vampire, but when no one else is available, Lucien is left with the job.

Since Lucien's been a vampire for thousands of years, he knows what it's all about. However, he has no interest in anything having to do with the heart -- he's been there, done that -- and lost it all when Atlantis sank beneath the sea. Fate may have something else in mind, though. The rogue who turned Leigh has survived and is determined to get her back, so Lucien may have more to worry about than love.

BITE ME IF YOU CAN is the third installment in Ms. Sands' Avon series about the Argeneau vampire family. I loved Lucien and the freshness of Leigh and how they help each other grow. The familiarity of the Argeneau family is great; it brings warmth to the story that blends very well with the humor -- and the passion. This is a treat to curl up with and enjoy. A good read.
