Home to the Wild Hunt, the underworld is ruled by old gods, Celtic gods among them. Joanne's had no sleep for days, her boss is going to fire her as soon as she shows her face at the station house and someone keeps coming from the underworld trying to kill her -- or kidnap her. She has three days to learn to use her powers, prevent the taking over of the world by the son of an ancient Celtic god and return the mystical child who leads the Wild Hunt, while avoiding getting kidnapped or killed. Her only help is a 70+-year-old cabbie...oh, and a coyote who visits her in her dreams. What a great debut novel! I see nothing but great things ahead for C.E. Murphy. Truly original, the story grabs you from the get-go and takes you on a wild ride. I loved it, and I can't wait to read the next installment in The Walker Papers series. A very, very good read!
Book Summary
Joanne Walker has three days to learn to use her shamanic powers and save the world from the unleashed Wild Hunt.
No worries. No pressure. Nevermind the lack of sleep, the perplexing new talent for healing from fatal wounds, or the cryptic, talking coyote who appears in her dreams.
And if all that's not bad enough, in the three years Joanne's been a cop, she's never seen a dead body -- but she's just come across her second in three days.
It's been a bitch of a week. And it isn't over yet.
