Thea Barrington leaves her home in Cornwall to travel to Ireland to wed Nigel Cosgrove. Although she realizes she should feel fortunate to marry the handsome man (after all, she's had two seasons without a single offer!), Thea feels only unease at the coming nuptials. The feelings intensify with the arrival of a mysterious gypsy woman, who whispers a warning and prediction for Thea's future. Later, Nigel shares with her the story of Ros Drumcondra, the centuries- dead warrior gypsy, intriguing Thea with the tale of a man of mythic proportions. When Nigel attacks her, it is only the intervention of a falcon that saves her, making her wonder if there might be something to the gypsy woman's mysterious words and the fabled Drumcondra.

While exploring an ancient ruin, Thea finds herself transported through time, into the world of Drumcondra and the battle being fought for Cashel Cosgrove. Though frightened by the fierce warrior, Thea is soon intrigued by the man behind the tales told through the centuries. It is in Drumcondra's time that Thea again meets the gypsy woman Jeta, mother of the Drumcondra; a woman with her own reasons for bringing Thea through time.

THE FALCON'S BRIDE is an intriguing, sensual story with larger--than-life characters. Thea and Drumcondra's travels through time, and the way Ms. Thompson cleverly weaves the threads of the different times together to create a love story through the centuries, makes this a most entertaining read.

Book Summary

At twenty-one, after two Seasons with no takers, Theadosia Barrington should have been grateful to snare Nigel Cosgrove. The earl-to-be was a blue-eyed Adonis, a true catch-and surely the incident in Covent Garden was exaggerated. And yet, upon her arrival at Cashel Cosgrove, Thea found herself more intrigued by the Irish castle's legend, that of the tragic Ros Drumcondra. "The Black Falcon" he was called. Party Gypsy, part Celt, the warrior had been conquered by betrayal alone. His ghost was still reputed to wander these halls, making women tremble with fear and desire-for who could resist those burnished copper eyes? Hadn't he stolen away the betrothed of Cian Cosgrove, made the woman his love slave? If only Thea herself could suffer such a fate. If only magic were a reality. If only that Gypsy woman had spoken the truth, and Thea was a woman out of time, the one meant to be...THE FALCON'S BRIDE
