Romance writer Clara Winston creates strong heroes and hopes to meet one someday. But after members of the KGB appear at her door thinking that she knows CIA agent Jack McCain (who has the same nickname as one of her fictional heroes), she finds herself on the run with Jack--and her life really turns into an adventure. This fast-paced romance receives superlative interpretation by Renee Maxwell. Her range of voices is impressive (even down to Clara's cat, who has a major role in the story). Her Russian accents are flawless. Her emotional coloring of the narration through pace, tone and inflection is on the mark. Maxwell's skillful narration even minimizes the occasionally predictable dialogue and plot developments. This is a treat for fans of adventure and romance, thanks to Maxwell's talents. M.A.M.
