With Parris Hammond aboard the La Torchere Resort’s cruise boat, cursed matchmaker Merry Bessart sees her opportunity to get a little retribution. Merry causes Parris to conveniently fall into the ocean near Bradford “Brad” Smith— the polar opposite to society princess Parris.

Hunky marine biologist Brad is squid hunting, searching for the clues that will lead him to the elusive giant squid. Parris, however, disturbs his catch. And his peace of mind.

He rescues her—despite his misgivings. However, Brad soon realizes he needs Parris. A personal consultant, she can be useful to the scruffy researcher. To be successful with the grant committees, he needs to clean up his act. Parris is the perfect answer to his problem.
