Nolan and Olive try everything to get it to do anything. Until all of a sudden it works and who should appear in their kitchen, but Ben Franklin! At first, they both feel this is just some kind of joke. The more they watch Ben, the more they notice how amazed he is at everything he sees.

This leads them into an adventure they will never forget. While Ben is checking everything out, they wander outdoors with him. They head to the library, where Ben explains that he is the one who started libraries way back when. Ben even gives a lecture to a group of children. As the story continues, not only do the children learn from Ben Franklin, but he learns from them, too!

BEN FRANKLIN'S IN MY BATHROOM! is such a great book by Candace Fleming! The illustrations by Mark Fearing are also great. I can't even imagine a child finding something like this. Fleming tells a wonderful story that includes history. I even learned some things that I didn't know. Nowadays, I don't think any child would know what to do with a box like this if they found it. Way too many video games and iPhones!

I have a niece who loves to read as much as I do. I know she is going to love this book when I give it to her. Perhaps she will learn history at the same time. Even though this is a children's book, anyone will love it. So go out and buy this book and give it to a child who loves to read.
