THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW written by A.J. Finn is such a magnificent novel that even Fox is in the works of creating this into a movie! I was completely unable to put it down until the end. Finn's storyline has lots twists and turns. As soon as you think you know what is happening, you second-guess your thoughts. Imagine no one believed that you saw a crime right there in front of you. You can describe everything and you know what you saw, but then you start questioning yourself when the proof, or the lack of, just doesn't add up.

Anne Fox used to be a child psychologist, but now she lives alone and suffers from anxiety that keeps her from leaving her home. She spends her days watching classic movies, drinking a little too much, talking to her husband and daughter through phone calls, and watching her neighbors. A new family moves in, the Russells. Then one day Anne sees something between this husband, wife, and son that she reports only to find herself wondering later if she is crazy. Who is telling the truth? She knows what she saw, but how can she make others believe her? Or did she see anything? Soon she starts to wonder and thinks twice about everything she thought she knew.

A paranoia page-turner that is the top of thrillers, THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW by A.J. Finn changes what you think you believe, with twist and turns within every page until the end. This is one of those books that not only left me shocked and speechless, it is one that I want to recommend to everyone! This is a suspense thriller that will have you holding your breath. I personally can't wait for the movie, but we all know the book will always be better!

Book Summary

For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-five languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.

It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .

Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble?and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.
