Before leaving on their honeymoon, they have dinner with Meg's parents. After dinner when they go to get their cars, they find that Meg's parent's car has been involved in a hit and run. Her dad says no big deal, they should go on their honeymoon. The next morning Meg and Seth head out. While they are on the second day, Meg gets a phone call from her mother. A dead body has been found in the back yard of their home and her father could be a suspect. Meg and Seth delay the honeymoon to go back to see how they can help.
When they are back in Meg's home town, they go over what happened. Meg feels that something is missing in this. Could the hit and run be connected to this murder? The police seem to be dragging their feet. Meg's father is an attorney and Meg feels that this all could be connected to one of his old cases. Things are just not adding up. Who is planting the seed of deception against her father?
SEEDS OF DECEPTION by Sheila Connolly really had me going. Right when I thought that I had figured in out, I was wrong. This book shows how family should always come together when faced with a tragic occurrence. I also liked the way that she describes the town that Meg comes from. It's a small town, but most of the people are very successful.
Sheila's writing is great. When I pick up a book and it keeps me guessing, I am hooked. There are a few slow parts, but they only last about a page or two. Don't put it down, keep reading. I hope you enjoy SEEDS OF DECEPTION as much as I did.
Book Summary
The New York Times bestselling author of A Gala Event returns with newlyweds Meg and Seth Chapin who should be worried about writing thank you notes, not taking a juicy bite out of crime...
With the bushels of time they spent organizing their wedding, Meg and Seth didn’t have a chance to plan a honeymoon. But now that winter has arrived, there’s not much to do at the orchard. So with their shared love of history and all things apple, they pick Thomas Jefferson’s orchards at Monticello as the perfect getaway.
While they enjoy the beautiful sights, there’s a rotten addition to the agenda when Meg’s parents discover their handyman dead in the backyard. With a bitter police chief eyeing Meg’s father as a suspect, Meg and Seth have to cut their honeymoon short to find the root of the problem.
