As this book is my first introduction to the series, I can certainly endorse that it reads very well as a stand-alone cozy mystery. Given that, I am sure fans of Donally's earlier books will be sure to lap up this latest addition and savor how Shadow has been sharping his claws and his detective skills while Sunny, along with her boyfriend Chief Inspector Will Price, strive to make sense of the information they gather about the unusual murder and other happenings in their small town, including just what Will's new lovely sidekick is up to.

If you like cozy mysteries, there is a lot to enjoy in CATCH AS CAT CAN right from its delightful cover, the likeable characters to its surprising ending. The story is well-plotted with intriguing twists and a nice balancing act between Sunny and Shadow and their relationship with others.
