Lindsay McKenna brings us installment number two of her Delos series with TANGLED PURSUIT. She introduces Captain Talia Culver, who is to become the CEO of Artemis Security. Tal is the daughter of General Robert and Dilara Culver, who own charities all over the world. After two school teachers were brutally murdered at their Home School charity in Costa Rica (Book 1, NOWHERE TO HIDE), the Culvers decide to implement their own security company.

Tal is currently finishing her deployment in Afghanistan where she plans missions and is an expert sniper. Three years ago she lost the love of her life to an Al Qaida terrorist and she wants to take this high-valued target down as her last duty. During the past three years Chief Navy SEAL Wyatt Lockwood has been pursuing Tal for a relationship. Tal has given him the cold shoulder every time. But when Wyatt shows Tal a softer side of himself during an encounter on base one evening, Tal begins to think that something could come of a relationship. Perhaps it's time to stop grieving and start living again.

Tal and her spotter leave for their mission to take down Sidiq, the terrorist who has eluded her since he killed her fiancé. Her opportunity comes, but things go terribly wrong with the mission. Wyatt and his SEAL team are called in to assist, but when the weather turns on them, the entire mission is compromised.

Ms. McKenna is a master at laying background for both her story and character relationships. She does an excellent job describing the Culver family, their multicultural ethnicity, and their priorities. Her characters are strong, realistic and believable. The storyline and plot are intricately woven throughout the pages to give us a dynamic thriller, combined with a tender love story.

TANGLED PURSUIT is fast-paced and action-packed with some steamy sex thrown in the mix. Ms. McKenna does such an excellent job of helping her readers to understand the complexity of the story and relationships of its characters that any of her novels can be read as a stand- alone. But this series proves to be so dynamic you do not want to miss a single one.
