Things are going downhill for Bee Carter: her financial situation got even more abysmal, and she is more torn than ever between dependable billionaire Nicolas and sexy tattooed biker Hawke. Bee receives a message, from someone other than Friendly, which might alleviate her pecuniary woes. She is also given a precious and very personal memento for safekeeping; a fragment of the permanence she craves. And when someone unexpectedly accompanies her, the dreaded weekly Saturday trip home to her mother becomes less of a chore; things lose some of their gloom when a friendly soul shares her experience.

SINFUL REWARDS 4 is a very emotional book; Bee has begun to heavily question her choices. Ms. Sax delves deeper into Bee's quest for stability and why money matters so much to her. The author's sensitive writing conveys Bee's pain and shame so expertly that we feel her overwhelming distress and hesitations as much as she does. The cinematic descriptions of the dingy diner effectively express the crushing dead-end Bee so desperately tries to escape. Yet SINFUL REWARDS 4 is colourful, light and joyful when Bee embraces the unconventional, voyeuristic/exhibitionist self, she tries so hard to stifle. The scenes of a sensual and sexual nature are breathtaking, warm and happy. Ms. Sax is so adept at describing surroundings, internal turmoil, and sensuality that we truly feel part of Bee Carter's world; we accompany her through her journey.

The SINFUL REWARDS series is most addictive and truly astounding: built upon a strong story, it's a character study that is also intensely sensual and quite suspenseful. The cliff-hangers are not what keep me anxiously awaiting the next instalment: I care about these fascinating characters, especially Bee and how she will succeed in trying to achieve her goal.

Ms. Sax is an author of such versatility that each book has different textures, colours and feels, and this one is quite different in tone: a bit darker but sexier. SINFUL REWARDS 4 naturally concludes in a cliff-hanger, a spectacular one that will make you want to read what happens next, and not having to. SINFUL REWARDS 4 is intense, deeply satisfying; simply wonderful. This might well be the best instalment so far in this brilliant series, and that is saying a lot.
