Kickstarting a brand new series featuring the Hurley Brothers , Lauren Dane is taking her cocky bad boys and putting them into the small town of Hood River. Up first is Paddy Hurley, a known ladies man and a big-time rock star who can't forget the sweet yet sumptuous Natalie Clayton when he runs into her again after a fling they had years ago. Unwilling to let her leave him a second time, Paddy puts on his smooth moves, hoping that she notices but the last thing that Natalie wants is a wild ride. She wants peace and calmness in her life now.

Paddy comes off as very confident and persistent. These are two things that can make a hero unlikable if gone too far. There were times when I thought Dane would go a little bit overboard, but for the most part, Paddy stood a good middle ground with his rock star personality. Similarly, Dane tends to stick to her strong heroines. It has almost become a trademark style she had made for herself. While Natalie is a bit softer around the edges as a librarian, that doesn't mean she is shy or meek by any means. Dane tends to make her heroines very forward. They know what they want, so while I enjoyed Natalie, I also would have loved to see some variation in personality when it came to the characters from Dane.

If you're a longtime fan of Lauren Dane, you'll be thrilled to know that there are some familiar faces that make some cameos in this book. Dane also sets up the next books in the series wonderfully, enticing the reader, but not giving away too much.

THE BEST KIND OF TROUBLE is a great example of what Lauren Dane is known for -- strong family ties and confident characters with an extra touch of sexiness for good measure!

Book Summary

She has complete control…and he's determined to take it away

A librarian in the small town of Hood River, Natalie Clayton's world is very nearly perfect. After a turbulent childhood and her once-wild ways, life is now under control. But trouble has a way of turning up unexpectedly—especially in the tall, charismatically sexy form of Paddy Hurley….

And Paddy is the kind of trouble that Natalie has a taste for.

Even after years of the rock-and-roll lifestyle, Paddy never forgot the two wickedly hot weeks he once shared with Natalie. Now he wants more…even if it means tempting Natalie and her iron-grip control. But there's a fine line between well-behaved and misbehaved—and the only compromise is between the sheets!
