Lincoln Buchannan is quite taken by the new young lady who has arrived in town and he choses to help her find a place to stay the night, but all the hotels are full, so he takes (Tori, her nickname) to his home to let her stay. She is most grateful and enjoys the stay at Link's home. She finds out that Link is friends with her brother Manny, but her brother lives in Cripple Creek and is out of town. She finds her stay at Link's home more and more pleasant and the more time they spend together heat radiates that can set fire to a city!
HEARTS AFIRE is not a story of just of love, lust, and romance, it's exciting and at times scary as to what had happened during the days of the Gold rush. When Unions tried to stir up trouble to get the miners what they deserve in pay and hours of work.
I loved HEARTS AFIRE very much and I say kuddo's to Sara Luck for writing such an interesting book! A recommended read!
