There's more gore in this sequel to 2012's Undead, and the story starts where the first one left off. Author Kirsty McKay drops you right into the action and the story keeps up its fast pace through the end.
Bobby is still the strong and capable leader assisted by her motley group of friends. The group's diversity is key to making this formula work, and it also allows for the dark comedy element. I enjoyed the idea of the kids solving a mystery with the pharmaceutical conspiracy and a missing Smitty and Bobby's mom. These served to pull the story along at a steady and quick pace. There's more information about the infection itself and the origins of it. I enjoyed continuing the tale and I will be curious to see if there will be a follow up book.
