It' s six weeks after the events in the first book, Undead, and Bobby wakes up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. Smitty's now missing and Bobby must find him with the help of the old gang plus a newcomer. Now it looks like there's another enemy by way of the pharmaceutical group Bobby suspects is behind the infection. Bobby will need to get them out of the hospital, find Smitty, and find her mom.

There's more gore in this sequel to 2012's Undead, and the story starts where the first one left off. Author Kirsty McKay drops you right into the action and the story keeps up its fast pace through the end.

Bobby is still the strong and capable leader assisted by her motley group of friends. The group's diversity is key to making this formula work, and it also allows for the dark comedy element. I enjoyed the idea of the kids solving a mystery with the pharmaceutical conspiracy and a missing Smitty and Bobby's mom. These served to pull the story along at a steady and quick pace. There's more information about the infection itself and the origins of it. I enjoyed continuing the tale and I will be curious to see if there will be a follow up book.
