The Colter Family is your typical family. They are fiercely loyal, protective of their own, and always stand beside one another. It doesn't matter if they are blood or just married into the family, like Max & Lauren. However when it comes to their relationships, they are anything but typical.

I recommend reading Colters' Woman, the first in the series, before this book to get familiar with the relationship situation. Colters' Gift is the fifth in the series. The story line is easy to follow if you haven't read the previous books in the series. But I do recommend reading at least the first one, Colters' Woman, to get the basis of what the other books build on. This is a great series built on strong family ties, loyalty, and about all else, love.
