I didn't really care for the character of Simon he came off to me as a little too obsessed with Cassie and she hardly even knew who he was. He is obsessed with her because of a date they had three years ago and I'm pretty sure Cassie doesn't even remember it. If I was Simon I would have given up on trying to make Cassie fall in love with me a long time ago. Simon does everything he can to get her to even notice him and some of the things he does are a little creepy. I liked the character of Cassie she was not your typical perfect girl, she just got dumped by her boyfriend and I kind of expected her to be prissy and mean but she surprised me and I really enjoyed reading from her point of view.

Hutchinson has an interesting concept with the alternating chapters. Simon has two different story lines in FML, both of which eventually lead him to the party. The plot was fairly fast paced, and I kept reading because I wanted to know how the two different stories would tie together, but this isn't one I'm going to particularly recommend since it did not work for me. FML is not your typical book, it is very unique and different. I believe it will only appeal to a certain type of reader.
