Why had her father and his new assistant Charles Waddingly brought back to the city a box of Waste? The creeping filth that is very dangerous with the ability to destroy everything in its path. It is said that only the elemental Manticore is able to keep the stuff from eating up the whole city.
Is the Pendant Lumin really who he says he is or is he possibly a member of the Architects of Athena. The Architects is a secret society that believes in magic and the protection of unnaturals, witches and elementals and not to use or abuse them.
And most importantly what possible reason did she have to help the Tinker boy who has stolen her little green toad, the only thing she had of her mothers? And if she doesn't help him will her world as she knows it survive.
THE UNNATURALISTS is a fast paced, mind-blowing read with a number of twists and turns that leave you breathless and hopeful that good will win out. As you read you will learn more about this strange and magical world from the view of the cityfolk, the Tinkers and the elemental beings themselves. The romantic twists that Vespa is forced into keeps you turning the pages and for readers seeking a happy ending they will be very pleased with how the author puts things back in order. I hope Ms. Trent has plans for other books of this world in the future because even if this was written with youth in mind, many older adults will certainly love to read them.
