Zoe Adams has put her quiet life in Alabama on hold to move to Texas and work as a waitress in a diner. Why? She's suspects she might be at the center a mystery and is trying to uncover the truth, if anyone will believe her. An episode of Unsolved Mystery Hunters told the story of the murder of Caroline Bradford, a little girl who looked eerily like Zoe. Suddenly, pieces Zoe didn't even know were missing start falling into place and she believes she might be Caroline. When Zoe starts getting threatening phone calls, she knows she in over her head. Luckily, help turns up at the diner on a regular basis in the form of PI Tyler Lopez.

Tyler isn't unhappy to find a beautiful redhead hiding under his desk and in fact is rather disappointed when she disappears. He knows he's seen her before and finally recognizes her as the waitress from the diner. He gets quite a welcome at the diner when he tracks her down to find out what she was doing at the office. He's pretty sure she's not Caroline Bradford but start to suspect something is up when Zoe's life is threatened. Tyler appoints himself her protector and won't hesitate to use their time together to explore the powerful attraction that flares between them.

BLAME IT ON TEXAS is contemporary romance at its best with the right blend of humor, emotion, mystery, and just a hint of sexiness. Tyler is brave, rugged, and handsome, just what you would expect from a Texas hero. Zoe is smart, determined, and honorable. Their banter, disagreements, and sexual tension make them a great couple to read about. The supporting characters, including Tyler's family and employees of the Only in Texas detective agency (whom we met in Only In Texas), contribute a couple of excellent subplots and lots of personality. I can't wait to see what's in store for the detectives in the next book in the series, Texas Hold 'Em.

Book Summary

Zoe Adams has always been content with her quiet nights at home, watching TV alone-until her life turns into a real-life episode of Unsolved Mystery Hunters. The story of a kidnapped girl triggers unexplained memories, and Zoe is dead-set on figuring out why. Her search leads her to one of the Lone Star State's richest families-and to sexy PI Tyler Lopez.

Tyler has sworn off women, especially redheads with killer curves who poke their noses into his clients' private lives. Still, he can't deny the attraction any more than he can deny that some of Zoe's crazy story makes sense. But when she becomes a hit man's target, this cold case starts heating up. Suddenly, Tyler will do anything to protect Zoe-even risk his heart.
