"Faith and politics make for strange bedfellows in this intriguing novel"

An Illinois Senator has been criminally convicted and is forced to resign. It's up to the Governor to appoint an interim Senator. His choices are Chicago Judge Reese McKelvie, or an evangelistic preacher, Eric Snow.

McKelvie engages in some shady dealings with the noted Mafia-connected Bugatti family, and manipulates the court proceedings in the trial of murderer, Nick Moretti. As the violent consequences follow, it seems there's no way to pull back the forces aiming to eliminate all threats to the Judge's senatorial ambitions.

At the same time, Eric Snow and his advisers are doing everything possible to secure the position as well for the vibrant pastor. Meanwhile, miracles are happening in his former church, and he only wants to distance himself from acknowledging the special answers to faith-filled prayer. His once faith-filled life becomes divided until inspired words break through the hard veneer he's been developing. Does his faith or his ambitions come first?

THE AMBITION is a mesmerizing novel that incorporates current events within a story that also deals with crisis of faith and hope. Lee Strobel is well known as the author/journalist who investigated faith and came out with best-sellers THE CASE FOR CHRIST, THE CASE FOR FAITH and others. THE AMBITION is Strobel's first foray into fiction, and he does a great job dealing with a captivating cast of characters and a plot that will keep readers on the edges of their seats. I, for one, hope this is the beginning of many more novels in Strobel's future writings.

Book Summary

She's found faith at the Diamond Point Fellowship. Ever the cynic, Strider begins investigating the megachurch and its poster-boy pastor, Eric Snow.
