Photographer Kristin Burns is working as a nanny until her photography career takes off -- hopefully soon since her photos are being considered for a showing by a big Manhattan gallery. And she's in love with the man of her dreams. But Kristin is wondering if their affair could be the cause of the horrible nightmare she keeps experiencing over and over. After all, he is married and father of the two adorable children she looks after. But the children love Kristin and his wife is a bitch, so that makes it okay in Kristin's mind.

When Kristin starts experiencing parts of the hideous chilling nightmare in her waking hours, her life becomes weird and terrifying. Is it all in her head? Is she becoming paranoid for no reason, or is the nightmare becoming her real life? And if it is real, she fears that everyone she loves is in danger.

Some creepy paranormal elements in this complex plot kept me wondering just what was going to turn out to be real and what wasn't real. However, with a heroine I did not like, it was hard to care about what happened -- real or imagined.

Book Summary

For Karen Burns, a talented young photographer, it was only natural to go to New York to chase her dreams. And it was only normal--just to pay the rent while she waited for her big chance--to work as a nanny for a young power couple, an attorney and his socialite wife, watching their two children. But for all the promise, the thrills, and the glitter, there are temptations and there are deadly dangers that come with life among the rich and powerful. Get ready for the Nanny Diaries from Hell.
